CA AB 2062 Just another bad bill to expand the law and find convoluted ways to limit ammunition On April 8 this was passed by the Assembly on Public Safety Committee - We can stop this bill.
Requires the Department of Justice to maintain additional information relating to ammunition transfers, handgun ammunition permits, and licensed handgun ammunition vendors. Expands existing law provisions to include persons prohibited from possessing ammunition. Establishes a program administered by the department for licensing handgun ammunition vendors. Requires vendors to obtain specified information from purchasers. Requires ammunition to be sold with assistance by the vendor or employee only.
CA AB 2602 Another bad bill to stop
hunter education and prohibit funding.
States the intent of the Legislature. Prohibits a public institution of higher education from funding, facilitating, or otherwise providing direct support for the lethal taking of any vertebrate animal by means of hunting or trapping.
CA AB 2566 Another bad bill about
firearms.
Amends existing law that provides that no permit or license to purchase, own, possess, keep, or carry, either openly or concealed, shall be required of any citizen of the United States or legal resident over the age of 18 years. Provides that, these provisions may not be constructed to prohibit the regulation by a city, county, or city and county of the possession of handguns
Prohibits the sale of firearms and ammunition at the Cow Palace.
CA SB 1171 More anti-gun laws and make it a crime to sell, lease or transfer a firearm without a license.
Repeals hunting provisions that prohibits the possession of a loaded rifle or shotgun in a vehicle that is standing or being driving on a public highway or other public way. Prohibits a person from carrying a loaded firearm on his or her person or in a vehicle while the person or vehicle is in any public place or on any public street, public road, or public highway. Makes technical changes to provisions that make it an offense for a person to sell, lease or transfer firearms without being licensed.
CA AB 1806 Good Bill but somewhat complicated. Keeps the state from harming wildlife.
Prohibits a state or local public land management entity form implementing any action or project that will significantly and adversely affect identified fish and wildlife resources unless the entity develops and implements an emergency contingency plan to facilitate rapid response actions to rescue or relocate the identified fish and wildlife resources. Requires the development of an emergency contingency plan as a precondition for issuing a permit for a project.
CA AB 1938 Yes on this one. Too bad it was not more.
Authorizes a credit for each taxable year in an amount equal to 25% of the aggregate amount paid or incurred by a taxpayer for qualified costs to spay or neuter a cat or dog.
CA AB 2132 Yes on this one and also supports archers using dogs to recover deer.
Requires signs forbidding trespass to be a specified size. Makes it unlawful for a person to remove any collar from a hunting dog with the intent to prevent or hinder the owner from locating the dog. Requires the Fish and Game Commission to consider adopting regulations that permit, during archery season, the use of one dog per hunter to aid in the recovery of deer.
CA AB 2291 Yes because it supports low cost spay-neuter fund.
Allows taxpayers to designate on their tax returns, that a specified amount in excess of their tax liability be transferred to the Low Cost/Free Spay-Neuter Fund, which would be created by this bill. Provides that a voluntary contribution designation for this fund may not be added on the tax return until another voluntary contribution designation is removed from the return.
CA SB 1166 Yes - No longer will you have to notify the DFG when traveling through a game refuge.
Repeals existing law that requires a person to provide notice to the Department of Fish and Game prior to traveling through a game refuge on a route other than a public highway or thoroughfare if the person is in possession of firearms or other specified devices. Prohibits any person from transporting a bird or mammal or any part thereof through a game refuge.
CA SB 1172 Yes - Elk Tag Account, Birds, Bear Tag money used for hunting land, programs and projects.
Establishes the Elk Tag Account, the Wildlife Management Areas Hunting Programs Account, the Upland Game Bird Stamp Account, the Deer Tag Account, and the Bear Tag Account within the Fish and Game Preservation Fund. Requires that any fees deposited in each account be used for programs, projects, land acquisitions and for hunting opportunities and public outreach to benefit each species for which the account was created.
Memorializes the Legislature's declaration of support for the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights and for the decision of a certain federal Court of Appeals relating to the right to keep and bear arms.
CA AB 2281
Makes it a felony for any person to be
intentionally present, as a spectator, at any place, building, or
tenement where preparations are being made for a dog fight, or to be
knowingly and intentionally present at a dog fight.
CA AB 2470
Relates to existing law which makes it a crime for persons to possess specified weapons on the grounds of any university. Expands the prohibition on weapons to include instruments that expect a metallic projectile such as a BB or pellet, through the force of air pressure, CO2, pressure, or spring action, or any spot marker gun.
